Today’s column is not the most exciting of pieces. I struggled with that momentarily, then I decided I really don’t care. A lot of the columns featured here aren’t riveting. That’s part of the point of this site — the political flash and rage are more often than not superfluous. The substance, boring as it might be, is what matters.
I know this lead-in is really setting today’s link up for success. I’ll make reading it a little easier. The authors, a collection of two Democrats and one Republican, lay out seven suggestions for improving the state of our politics. Just read items 2 and 3. If they grab you and you want to read more, go for it. But 2 and 3 are easy and worthwhile. Most importantly, though, they’re what we owe to others because they’re what we expect from others. I hope you agree.
