The Supreme Court just released its opinion on presidential immunity, stating presidents have absolute immunity for constitutionally designated powers but no immunity for unofficial acts. Rather than hope for thoughtful commentary dashed off within minutes or even hours of the release, I’m going to give the pundits a day to catch their breath. (But I will say that while I was right in my prediction about the decision, I was wrong about the split — it was 6-3 rather than 8-1 or 7-2.)
Today’s column is about Biden’s debate performance Thursday. The author is a site favorite. His positions are always well-considered, not to mention well-supported. I’d be curious to hear what you think of this one, not because I think he’s wrong, but because he’s certainly going against the grain.
