The rest of the pundit class may have returned to covering Joe Biden’s age, but not me. I’m still on presidential immunity. After finding a couple good pieces at least mildly supportive of the Supreme Court’s decision, I’ve been working hard to find some opposed to it. The Bonnie Kristian column featured here last week was great, but its opposition was more philosophical than legal. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I’ve been holding out for a terrific legal argument against the decision, too. I read a number that got about 90% of the way there, then they started talking about assassinating presidential rivals. I’m not sure how compelling an argument that is. I know it’s not compelling to the other side. Today’s column could be, though. It is by far the most thoughtful and thorough piece I’ve read against the decision, and it was very much worth the wait.
