Two days ago was the good and bad news facing the nascent Harris campaign. Yesterday was just the bad news. Today is just the good.
First off, a few polls have come out this week showing Harris improving on Biden’s numbers against Trump. She’s anywhere from one point behind to two points ahead. Maybe that’s just new candidate enthusiasm, but momentum often builds momentum, so we’ll see. Another bit of good news — the focus of today’s link — has to do with Harris’ career as a prosecutor. In the 2020 Democratic primary, that background was perceived as a weakness. In the 2024 general election, though, it could be a real asset. Again, we’ll see.
Today’s column is a fascinating, terrific piece. F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote, “There are no second acts in American lives.” Harris’ legal career might beg to differ. I guess we’ll see.
