Today’s link concerns electoral college strategy. That phrase may break your spirit, but I defy you not to spend hours on 270toWin. It’s Wordle without the pressure. It’s also less high stakes than the real deal.
Because the electoral college stakes are high. You know it, I know it, the Harris campaign knows it… even if it appears to be making a pretty elemental error. To be honest, I hadn’t heard about this strategy before today’s link, but apparently the campaign is focusing its attentions more on the Sun Belt states of Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada than the Blue Wall states of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
Today’s columnist thinks that’s a mistake and, frankly, I’d be hard-pressed to argue. Hillary Clinton didn’t give the Blue Wall its due — she never even visited Wisconsin in the general election — and her title is former candidate. Joe Biden did and his title is current president. I have no doubt Harris will visit Wisconsin multiple times — she held her first presidential campaign rally there — but she needs to visit it as many times as Biden did and then go some more. The Sun Belt? Sure, it’s important, but Harris can afford to lose Nevada. She can afford to lose Georgia. She can even afford to lose Arizona. She can’t afford to lose the Blue Wall. It doesn’t take hours on 270toWin to figure that out.
