Today’s link is the best model for commentary I’ve seen in some time. It defies the rules of political discourse (don’t give credence to the opposition’s beliefs, don’t qualify your argument by saying “I think,” don’t weaken your position by saying “I could be wrong”) and is all the more persuasive for it. The links here typically manage to do away with one of those rules and it’s a glorious thing. Today’s does away with all three and I don’t think there’s a word for it.

Note: Uplifting as the above paragraph might sound, this link will not be happy news for roughly half of subscribers. It is, however, a phenomenal example of the thoughtful and generous thinking that exists on their side. And it is that kind of thinking that appeals to swing voters. So maybe there is happy news to be found after all.
