This sounds super-prudish, but there are descriptions of people in today’s link — real pearl clutchers like “predatory” and “morally repugnant” — that I try to avoid in columns featured here. The reason I’m sticking with this one, though, is (a) the author is describing someone — I bet you can’t guess who it is — in his own party and (b) the descriptions are in service of a greater question. As in, “What this person did was predatory and morally repugnant, but is it criminal?” It’s a question that needs to be asked not just by those in the mystery person’s party, but by those in the opposing party as well.
