On yet another assassination attempt...
Yesterday, the Secret Service shot at and eventually apprehended a would-be assassin outside Mar-a-Lago. Thank god, yet again, that former President Trump wasn’t harmed.
The assassin’s motives aren’t known at this moment. Reports suggest a troubled and erratic history (previous arrests; doomed-to-fail recruitment missions for the Ukraine War). Though it would be irresponsible to attribute yesterday’s attempt in toto to the rhetoric of one side or another, it doesn’t mean it’s not another opportunity to reconsider this moment.
As such, today’s link is what I wrote after the first assassination attempt on President Trump, barely two months ago. I think it still holds true. And I pray I don’t have to link to it again.
